Prenzler awaiting Haine s opinion on new members Scott Cousins, scousins@thetelegraph.com FacebookTwitterEmail 3of3 EDWARDSVILLE Madison County Board Chairman Kurt Prenzler is waiting for a letter from the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office confirming the official timeline for appointing at least two new members of the Madison County Board. On Wednesday the county board overwhelmingly rejected three proposed new members Prenzler proposed. One of the biggest complaints was there had not been enough input from board members, specifically former members who had left the board due to the Nov. 3 election and relocation. At the meeting Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Haine advised that two of the three vacant seats must be filled by Jan. 29 to meet a 60-day deadline set by county ordinances.

McBride, 27, of Granite City, was charged Jan. 20 with home invasion, a Class X felony. The case was presented by the Granite City Police Department. According to court documents, on Jan. 18 McBride entered a home in the 2500 block of Washington Avenue and struck one of the occupants. Bail was set at $150,000. • Damon T.M. Starks, 26, of Granite City, was charged Jan. 20 with unlawful possession of a stolen firearm, offenses relating to motor vehicles, unlawful possession of a stolen license plate, all Class 2 felonies; and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, a Class 4 felony. The case was presented by the Granite City Police Department. WBGZ Radio 1/13/2021 | By Mark Ellebracht - WBGZ Radio A man from Ferguson is facing new charges in connection with recent attempted robberies outside stores in Madison County in December.  Investigators believe they have connected 41-year-old Earl Barber to four additional incidents after he was shot by police during his attempted escape from an alleged armed robbery scene on December 30 in Glen Carbon. In that case, police say Barber, and another man, robbed a woman outside the Glen Carbon Walmart store and then fled in a vehicle, reportedly shooting at other vehicles in their escape.  Officers from multiple departments pursued the car into St. Louis County and Barber was later shot and injured by a Madison County Sheriff’s Deputy before he was taken into custody.  Investigators from Glen Carbon, Collinsville, and Edwardsville then met to compare notes and worked with the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office to file additional charges in connection with previous in

Woman faces drug, weapons charges after Glen Carbon incident Scott Cousins, scousins@thetelegraph.com FacebookTwitterEmail EDWARDSVILLE A Collinsville woman is facing drug and weapons charges after being arrested by Glen Carbon Police on Jan. 10. Natasha N. Theis, 37, was charged Jan. 11 with unlawful possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a Class X felony, and the Class 2 felonies of unlawful possession of weapons by a felon and unlawful possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. The case was presented by the Glen Carbon Police Department. According to court documents, on Jan. 10 Theis was found to be in possession of between 15-100 grams of methamphetamine and also possessed Alprazolam with intent to deliver. She also had a Taser while on parole for unlawful possession of controlled substance.
