PH GOV T ISSUES NEW RULES ON TESTING/QUARANTINE FOR PASSENGERS FROM COUNTRIES WITH UK VARIANT
The Philippine government s Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging and Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) has revised the testing and quarantine protocols for passengers (Filipino citizens and eligible non-Filipinos) arriving in the Philippines from countries where travel restrictions are in place due to new COVID-19 variants.
Effective January 23, 2021, passengers arriving in the Philippines from countries covered by travel restrictions shall be given RT-PCR testing upon arrival and shall be given the option to avail of a second swab test on their 5th day of quarantine.
Paranaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the Metro Manila Council (MMC) will meet Tuesday (January 26) to determine whether Metro Manila is ready to be placed under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).

+ January 26, 2021 ADJUSTMENTS to the newly amended national guidelines on community quarantine and preparations for the mass vaccination program were discussed during the 3rd virtual meeting of the Bacolod City Covid-19 Vaccination (CoVac) Council Sunday, January 24, 2021.
Presided by Mayor Evelio Leonardia, the virtual dialogue heavily touched on the latest amendments to the National Inter-Agency Task Force’s (NIATF) Omnibus Guidelines on the Implementation of Community Quarantine in the Philippines.
Bacolod City has been placed under the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) for several months now. MGCQ is considered the lowest community quarantine status as per NIATF guidelines.
