161 COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths reported Thursday in Mississippi
There were 25 new cases and no new deaths reported in South Mississippi on Thursday.

JACKSON, Miss. (WLOX) - On Thursday, the Mississippi State Department of Health reported a total of 161 new COVID-19 cases and two new deaths as of 3 p.m. the day before.
For the six southernmost counties, there were a total of 25 new cases and no new deaths reported Thursday.
The new cases were in Harrison County (9), Jackson County (7), George County (5), Stone County (3), and Hancock County (1). No new cases were reported in Pearl River County.

Mississippi health officials lifted the pause on administering Johnson & Johnson vaccines in the state, they announced during a Wednesday press briefing.
The Mississippi State Department of Health on April 13 said it had paused Johnson & Johnson vaccine use after federal health officials recommended doing so after six recipients in the United States developed rare blood clots.
On Friday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration lifted the pause after they performed a thorough review. The entities stated they were confident in the vaccine s safety and effectiveness.

JACKSON, Miss. (WDAM) - The Mississippi State Department of Health reports the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state has risen to over 311,600.
MSDH reported 161 COVID-19 cases and two additional deaths on Thursday, bringing the state total to 311,654 cases and 7,195 deaths.
One of the deaths reported came from the Pine Belt area as it was recorded from Marion County.
Positive test results may have been made during the past several days and represent individuals who became ill a week ago or more.
