Badsey businesses help raise £1,500 for Midlands Air Ambulance

BUSINESSES in the Badsey area have raised £1,500 for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. Laura Penfold and her partner Graham, who run the Round of Gras pub in Badsey, started holding small raffles during lockdown to give local businesses a boost. Laura said: “We started holding raffles during the first lockdown and they proved very popular so we wanted to try and help local businesses that might be struggling. “The first local business support raffle we held worked really well and some businesses wanted to donate the cost of their product to a good cause, so we chose the Midlands Air Ambulance.

SUPPORT: ARCOS volunteers at the clothes bank MALVERN residents are being encouraged to take advantage of the covid lockdown by decluttering their wardrobes. A clothes bank has been installed in the grounds of the Association for Rehabilitation of Communication and Oral Skills (ARCOS), in Avenue Road. Clinical director Kay Coombes said: “The clothes bank has always been quite popular, but it has never been so full as we have seen it recently. We are delighted to host the clothes bank and ARCOS receives a percentage of the funds that it raises for good causes. Please support all these charities by bringing your clean clothes and shoes appropriately bagged.”
