A 27-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after an incident which left a man in a critical condition. Police were called out to Kirkby Row near Kirkby train station on Monday night following reports of two men fighting.
A man , 51, was taken to hospital after the incident after he suffered head injuries.
Today police have said that a local man has been charged with attempted murder in relation to the incident.

Armed police were scrambled to a Liverpool street following a lunchtime shooting.
Patrols were sent to Garston after Merseyside Police received reports that shots had been fired at 1.45pm.
Officers swarmed Chesterton Street, where evidence of a shooting was discovered.
There are no reported injuries at this time.
Chesterton Street was cordoned off by police while witness, CCTV and forensic enquiries are carried out.
