2 die in crash during police pursuit in western Kentucky

PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) Two people have died from injuries suffered in a crash that occurred during a police pursuit in western Kentucky, authorities said.
An initial investigation found that Lamont X. Young, 27, of De Soto, Illinois, fled from a McCracken County Sheriff’s deputy who was trying to arrest him, Kentucky State Police said in a statement. Young drove a Honda Civic west toward an intersection, where he failed to stop at a traffic light and collided with a Ford Explorer, police said.
The driver of the Ford, Deborah K. Burge, 60, of Cunningham, Kentucky, was declared dead at the scene by the McCracken County coroner.

MCCRACKEN CO., KY (WSIL) - Kentucky State Police say two people are dead after a car crash in McCracken County, Kentucky. They say one of the deceased is the driver of a car who was in a pursuit.
Police say the crash happened Monday, August 2 around 1:45 p.m. The McCracken County Sheriff s Office contacted Kentucky State Police to investigate a crash at the intersection of US Highway 60 and Cairo Road. The Sheriff s Department said one of the cars was fleeing from police.
An initial investigation says 27-year-old Lamont X. Young of De Soto, Illinois, was driving a Honda Civic. Police say he was fleeing from a Sheriff s Deputy who tried to arrest Young.
