SHERIFF S OFFICE: Man Charged with Rape, Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and More in Rutherford County May 10, 2021 at 07:48 am by WGNS (MURFREESBORO)  Fifty-three charges of sexual crimes involving girls between the ages of 11 and 14 were filed against a Murfreesboro man this past Friday (5/7/2021). The arrest came after a three-month investigation by a Rutherford County Sheriff’s detective. 22-year-old Spencer Gray of Old Lascassas Road was indicted on the charges by a Rutherford County grand jury, said Detective Austin Mobbs. The investigation started after a parent notified the sheriff’s office about Gray that led detectives to identify six victims so far, Mobbs said. The Sheriff s Office told WGNS NEWS that Detectives know there are more victims.

Authorities filed the charges after a three-month investigation by a Rutherford County Sherriff s detective. According to the Rutherford County Sheriff s Office, Spencer Gray, 22, used social media platforms including Snapchat and Instagram to reach girls. Six victims have been identified so far, but detectives say they know there are more victims. He reached out on social media and allegedly used any means necessary to exploit these children, said lead investigator Detective Austin Mobbs. Mobbs began the investigation after a tip from a parent. The investigation started after a parent reported information about Spencer Gray, 22, to the sheriff s office. Six victims have been identified so far. The sheriff s office believes there are more victims. Gray is accused of communicating on multiple social media platforms, including Snapchat and Instagram. Jason Lee, a Marion County Sheriff s Office reserve deputy, in the 6300 block of Westfield Boulevard on April 10. He was also charged with possession of paraphernalia. Manery was shot in his white Jeep Cherokee about 5:30 p.m. after Marion County deputies were alerted to his location by Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee. The man reportedly had open warrants for flight to avoid and vehicular aggravated assault out of Tennessee and a stolen vehicle warrant out of South Carolina.
