The plane crashed near the Shiloh Airport on Settle Bridge Road in Stoneville around 6:40 p.m. Thursday, the Rockingham County Sheriff s Office said. Cates said there was a fire when the plane crashed and crews quickly put it out. The Federal Aviation Administration will be at the crash site Friday morning, said Cates. The type of plane that crashed is an Early Bird Jenny, according to a preliminary statement from the FAA.

Updated: 10:40 PM EDT May 24, 2021 WXII12.com Web Staff Two people are dead and one person is injured after a shooting in Rockingham County Monday afternoon. Officials say deputies responded after receiving reports of two gunshot victims laying in the roadway along the U.S. 29 bypass Northbound corridor from Barnes Street to N.C. 14 in Reidsville around 4:45 p.m. A third victim was located shortly after deputies and first responders arrived.The area is closed off while deputies investigate. Traffic is being rerouted and it is unclear when the road will be open.Authorities say the shots were fired from a red Dodge Dually pickup while the two victims were riding on a motorcycle together and the other victim was on a separate motorcycle.One victim died on the scene and the other victim died at the hospital. Officials say the third victim was able to walk away. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Authorities warn residents to be vigilant on the roads.T

(AP) Two motorcyclists were shot and killed and a third was wounded Monday as they rode on a North Carolina highway, a sheriff s office said. Investigators with the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office say the shootings occurred on the U.S. Highway 29 bypass near N.C. Highway 14, news outlets reported. Lt. Kevin Suthard said in a news release that the investigators believe the shots were fired from a red Dodge dually pickup truck. A dual rear-wheel truck - often referred to as a dually - is described by J.D. Power as a heavy-duty pickup truck with two rear wheels on each side.
