A man accused of killing a North Palm Springs woman with a machete, who is also accused of trying to kill another person, has racked up more than 10 convictions in Riverside County. He was most recently sentenced last March to more than two years in prison.
Publicly available sentencing documents for David Earl Williams, Jr. s 2020 conviction for evading arrest and vehicle theft indicate he should have been behind bars until at least June
2021.
But, exactly when Williams, 29, was released from custody, and by which agency, is not clear as multiple law enforcement agencies have declined to provide that information to The Desert Sun.

David Earl Williams Jr., 29, is charged with killing Robin Patricia Barr, whose body was recovered early
Wednesday morning in the open desert northwest of Varner Road and Palm Drive.
Williams was arraigned at the Banning Justice Center before Riverside County Superior Court Judge Alfonso Fernandez, who set the defendant s bail at $2 million and scheduled a felony settlement conference for March 8 at the Larson Justice Center in Indio.

WASHINGTON - The Department of Energy issued an emergency order allowing several Texas power plants to produce as much electricity as possible, a move expected to violate anti-pollution rules that comes amid a deepening electricity crisis in the state that has cut power to millions of homes.
