ELKINS A $200,000 cash bond has been set for a man accused of sexually assaulting an elementary school-age girl.
Clyde Henry Huffman, 66, has been charged with first degree sexual assault and sexual abuse by a parent or guardian. He is being held in Tygart Valley Regional Jail. Bond was set by Randolph County Magistrate Ben Shepler.
According to the criminal complaint, filed by Cpl. S.D. Kyle of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, officers spoke to a woman on March 26 who said her 10-year-old daughter told her that day that Huffman had sexually assaulted her “approximately three-four years ago.”
Traffic Alert: Crash shuts down Hwy. 67
POCAHONTAS, Ark. (KAIT) - A crash Thursday morning shut down U.S. Highway 67.
The Arkansas Department of Transportation reported the crash happened shortly after 8:30 a.m. about 1.2 miles northeast of State Highway 90 near Pocahontas on the bridge crossing Baltz Lake.
According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, two semi-trucks collided head-on.
Both drivers were taken to /the hospital with undisclosed injuries. No word on where anyone else was hurt.
All northbound lanes of traffic will remain closed until crews can clear the scene. As of 10 a.m., the sheriff’s office said it should reopen soon.
Shreve
MONTROSE A 61-year old Montrose woman has been charged with second degree arson after allegedly burning a trailer to the ground on Sunday.
Carla Shreve, who police say used a cigarette lighter to ignite the blaze, is currently lodged in Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond.
Deputy Z.T. Pingley of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the scene on 322 Prosperous Lane for a suspected arson call to 911, according to the criminal complaint. Once on scene Pingley spoke to members of the Leading Creek Volunteer Fire Department, who stated that Shreve admitted to setting the trailer on fire.

ASHEBORO, N.C. Asheboro Police are investigating after one person is found dead, another arrested on a string of charges after a homicide investigation leads to a car chase.
Police said the call came in Sunday, March 25 just after 2 o clock in the morning for an unknown medical situation.
