ISLAMABAD: While 798 more people were found infected with Covid-19 in the capital on Sunday with an 11.04pc positivity ratio, the district administration has been anticipating a decrease in the positive cases during the current week.
As many as 251 people were diagnosed with the disease in Rawalpindi whereas no casualties were reported during the last 24 hours in both the cities.
According to a graph available with Dawn, positivity dropped to 7.7pc on April 9 but started rising again. The number of cases was 564 on April 7. However, the weekly positivity ratio considered to be more authentic has dropped a little; from March 29 to April 4, around 5,317 cases were reported with a positivity rate of 11.2pc but last week, between April 5 and 10, around 4,789 cases were

ISLAMABAD: Eight more people lost their life to Covid-19 in the twin cities - four each in Islamabad and Rawalpindi - with 674 new cases in the capital and 259 in the garrison city on Friday.
Officials of the capital administration said six deaths were also reported in the city on Thursday.
On Friday, the death of two women in the age group of 50-59, one man in the age group of 80-89 and another in the age group of 90-99 was reported in the capital. They were residents of G-10, F-6, Rawal Town and B-17.During the last 24 hours, 8,711 tests were conducted out of which 404 males and 270 females tested positive. The positivity rate was 7.73 per cent.

ISLAMABAD: After a gap of two days, the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad again saw a surge in Covid-19 cases, with five deaths - three in the capital and two in the garrison city.Officials of the capital administration said 742 cases were reported on Thursday against 659 and 564 cases on Tuesday and Wednesday.
During the last 24 hours, 8,433 tests were conducted in the capital and the positivity rate was 8.58pc against 8.39pc on Wednesday.
Islamabad saw four deaths while nine patients succumbed to the virus in the garrison city.
The officials of the capital administration said that 564 new cases were reported on Wednesday compared to 659 on Tuesday.
During the last 24 hours, 6,722 tests were conducted in the capital, out of which tests of 302 men and 262 women came back positive. The positivity rate remained at 8.39pc compared to 8.79pc the previous day.
The death toll from Covid-19 in the capital has reached 588, after four more deaths were reported on Wednesday, the officials said.
Two of them were residents of G-11 and one each were from G-8 and Tarnol, the officials said.
