Human remains found in Golden Meadow
An investigation is underway after human remains were found Wednesday in Golden Meadow, authorities said.
Investigators found the decomposed remains in a wooded area just north of Yankee Canal, the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
Though detectives could not determine an identity or cause of death, Sheriff Craig Webre said there weren’t any signs of foul play.
“The detectives that located what was left of the remains did a thorough investigation of the scene, and there does not appear to be foul play,” Webre said. “Nevertheless, we re going to continue with the investigation before we make that determination. The condition of the remains was such that there were parts of the body that were not present and may have been consumed by wildlife. We’re going to have an autopsy and use DNA to confirm the identity.”
When his neighbor opened the door, Kennedy pulled out his .45 caliber Judge revolver and stuck it in his neighbor's mouth. That's when the gun went off.
"I had enough of the music," Kennedy told investigators after he called police to report the shooting. "I took the gun and stuck it up to him. I let him know I wasn’t playing with him."
