A Pennsylvania man has been charged with criminal homicide after police say he confessed to stabbing and bludgeoning his wife to death with a fireplace poker, and then leaving her to die in the basement of their home for two days following an argument about infidelity.

HAZLETON, Pa. A month after an armed robbery ended in the murder of a store clerk, investigators in the Luzerne County district attorney s office have charged the man responsible.
Last month, Ashokkumar Patel was shot and killed while working at Craig s Food Mart on Broad Street in Hazleton.
Investigators from the Luzerne County district attorney s office held a news conference Tuesday afternoon at city hall to say they have charged the man responsible.
Flowers are placed on the doorstep at 103 Gaylord Avenue in Plymouth where Daniel and Mary Susan Barrett resided. Daniel Barrett is the Plymouth man who accused his wife of cheating on him bludgeoned her with a fireplace poker and stabbed her repeatedly with a knife before stashing the body in the basement for two days, according to police. Daniel Barrett, 40, is charged with an open count of criminal homicide alleging he murdered his wife Mary Susan Barrett in the family home at 103 Gaylord Ave. on Saturday. Police say the crime was discovered when an emotional Daniel Barrett showed up at police headquarters and confessed Monday evening.Â

Kingstown – The Vincentian man who is on the most wanted list in the American state of Pennsylvania was granted bail when he appeared in court here on Monday.
Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne, sitting at the Serious Offences Court, granted Kern Z. Mayers bail in the sum of EC$40 000 (US$14 800) with one surety.
She further ordered him to surrender his travel documents and to report to the Questelles Police Station on Mondays between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. until the outcome of his extradition hearing, set for April 4, 2021.
Browne also ordered that stop notices be placed at ports of entry and exit, preventing Mayers from leaving the jurisdiction.
