Police: Woman, boyfriend shoot brother for revenge

A man shot repeatedly during a drive-by shooting last month was targeted by his own sister in retaliation for stabbing her boyfriend during an altercation two years ago, police said. Starneesha M. Richardson-Gunter, 31, and her boyfriend, Marquis S. Ford, 36, both of Wilkes-Barre, are facing aggravated assault charges alleging they shot Richardson-Gunterâs brother, Johnny Gunter, 31, of Nanticoke, after a court appearance last month. Police said Gunter appeared in Luzerne County Central Court the afternoon of March 10 to face aggravated assault charges alleging he stabbed Ford at a home in Nanticoke in October 2019. Ford, however, did not show up and the hearing was continued.

Man charged with attacking mother, son with bat

A Pittston man beat a woman with a baseball bat and attacked her juvenile son when the boy tried to intervene, according to police. Rashon Henry Daniels, 39, is accused of beating mother and child during during an attack Saturday night at 94 Market St. According to police, Laurie Lindsey reported she had playfully hit Daniels on the shoulder and that he snapped in response, throwing a beer at her face. Lindsey s son intervened and tried stopping Daniels, who began threatening the pair. When Daniels came at them, the boy hit him in the face with a baseball bat, police said. Daniels grabbed the boy by the throat and put him up against a wall so that he had trouble breathing, according to police.

Police: Pepper-sprayed man tries stealing ambulance

A Plymouth man who was pepper sprayed during an altercation tried stealing an ambulance that brought him to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, according to police. Elijah Kareem Rivers, 20, was arrested after attempting to steal the ambulance around 1 p.m. Wednesday, police said. According to police, Rivers was involved in an incident in Plymouth Borough that led to him being pepper sprayed. As he was being taken to the hospital, Rivers began acting erratically in the back of the ambulance, police said. Upon arriving at the hospital, Rivers jumped into the driver s seat of the ambulance and tried several times to put it in gear, but ultimately ran from the scene when he was unable to put the vehicle into drive, police said.
