4% of Missourians have received first COVID-19 vaccine shot, lowest in US

ST. LOUIS Just 4% of Missourians have received the first shot of the two-dose coronavirus vaccine as of Sunday, the lowest of any state in the country.
According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention compiled by The New York Times, Missouri is behind every state in the rate of distribution for the first dose, and only U.S. territories in the Virgin Islands, Micronesia and Guam have a lower percentage of the population with the first dose.

WOOD RIVER Two new COVID-19 related deaths in Madison County were among the 40 reported Sunday by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
The IDPH reported the Madison County deaths of a woman in her 50s and a man in his 60s.
The Madison County Health Department reported seven COVID-19 related deaths Friday and Saturday. Friday’s deaths included a woman in her 70s, two women in their 80s annd a man in his 90s. Saturday’s deaths included three men, in their 50s, 60s and 70s.

ST. LOUIS When Tim Dolan got his coronavirus vaccination, he was still struggling to get most of his staff on Dolan Memory Care Homes to follow suit, with participation rates around 40%. But with the recent decision to make vaccines required as a condition of employment, it is unclear where any new employees and especially new residents will get vaccines once the on-site vaccination clinics end.
