As we previously reported, Seattle rapper Lil Mosey, born Lathan Moses Echols, 19, was recently hit with a second-degree rape charge in Washington State, and now he’s pleading not guilty. Last week, the rapper was charged in an alleged incident that happened on January 6, 2020 in Randle. It was reported that Mosey and another man, a co-defendant identified as 19-year-old Francisco Prater of Silver Creek, sexually assaulted a woman who met up with them. The woman alleges on a car ride to their final destination, Mosey exposed himself and she consented to sex. However, during their ride, she says she blacked out and later woke up to the rapper and Prater forcibly having sex with her.

The lawyers told XXL in a statement on Tuesday (April 27), Lathan was never arrested and was never on the run. He only learned of this allegation last week. Notice of his court date was sent to the wrong address. Once Lathan learned about the warrant, he told his attorneys to contact the prosecutor right away. The prosecutor agreed that the judge could quash the warrant immediately, which the judge did. Lathan then appeared in court at the first opportunity. Today, the judge found he wasn’t a flight risk and didn’t impose any bail.  Lathan entered a plea of not guilty because he is innocent. We expect him to be exonerated.

Chehalis, WA – Rapper Lil Mosey, best known for his single “Blueberry Faygo,” has reportedly entered a plea in his sexual assault case. According to The Daily Chronicle, the 19-year-old Seattle native has pleaded not guilty to second-degree rape stemming from an alleged incident in January 2020. Lil Mosey appeared in Lewis County Superior Court on Tuesday (April 27) after the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office agreed to cancel a $50,000 warrant for his arrest. The warrant was issued after he failed to appear in court for a scheduled preliminary appearance on April 21. Defense attorney Jennifer Atwood claims the court summons was sent to the wrong address and Mosey had no idea he’d received one until it was too late.
