Virginia reports record single-day COVID-19 case increase with 4,782 new cases, breaking record set yesterday

The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving COVID-19 cases within the state.
According to their website, there are now 323,915 total cases, 275,235 of which are confirmed and 48,680 are probable. There are 4,791 total COVID-19 related deaths, with 4,263 being confirmed and 528 being probable. The case numbers are up by 4,782, and deaths are up by 31 since Wednesday.
Thursday s case increase marks a record single-day increase for Virginia. The previous record was set Wednesday.
A total of 4,070,000 COVID-19 PCR tests have now been given in Virginia.

The Virginia Department of Health released their daily updated numbers involving COVID-19 cases within the state.
According to their website, there are now 319,133 total cases, 271,811 of which are confirmed and 47,322 are probable. There are 4,760 total COVID-19 related deaths, with 4,251 being confirmed and 509 being probable. The case numbers are up by 4,652, and deaths are up by 55 since Tuesday.
A total of 4,029,903 COVID-19 PCR tests have now been given in Virginia.
The test percent positivity rates in Hampton Roads are as follows. All health districts except for the Eastern Shore Health District are reporting rates above the state average, which is 11.6 percent. Chesapeake s percent positivity continues to be the highest since the start of the pandemic.

VIRGINIA CVS Health, a partner chosen to vaccinate long-term care facility residents, plans to begin administering COVID-19 vaccines in 874 Virginia facilities on Dec. 28.
CVS Pharmacy was selected by many nursing homes and assisted living facilities nationwide to be their vaccine provider. It is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention s program offering COVID-19 vaccination services for residents of long-term care facilities. CVS, Walgreens, and Managed Health Care Associates are the partners in the national program.

According to their website, there are now 314,481 total cases, 268,472 of which are confirmed and 46,009 are probable. There are 4,705 total COVID-19 related deaths, with 4,221 being confirmed and 484 being probable. The case numbers are up by 3,591, and deaths are up by 51 since Monday.
A total of 3,993,232 COVID-19 PCR tests have now been given in Virginia.
