New Delhi [India], December 25 (ANI): The air quality index (AQI) in Delhi remains in severe category on Friday, according to System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR).
The particulate matter (PM2.5) stands at 420 in the morning around 9:10 am, said SAFAR. The moderate fog has been observed in isolated pockets over the national capital, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, West Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rayalaseema have witnessed moderate fog in isolated pockets, said IMD.
The dense fog caused low visibility in Punjab s Amritsar around 5:30 am as per the meteorological department.

Key Highlights
The concentrations of major pollutants such as PM10 and PM2.5 were recorded at 490 and 296 respectively.
Air quality stood in the severe zone in Anand Vihar, Bawana, Chandni Chowk, Mathura Road and Dwarka Sector 8.
Dilshad Garden, Lodhi Road, Nazafgarh and Wazirpur recorded the air quality in the ‘very poor’ quality.
New Delhi: The quality of air in the national capital remained in the ‘severe’ category at 6 am on Thursday, with the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) clocking at 450, according to Ministry of Earth Science s air quality monitor, System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR).
Delhi is likely to record a minimum of 4 degrees Celsius temperature today, according to IMD.

A thick layer of fog engulfed parts of the national capital on Wednesday morning while the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) of the city plunged into the severe category with a count of 404 in the early hours, according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR).
The AQI in various parts of Delhi including Delhi University, Delhi Airport, and Lodhi Road was recorded in the severe category today morning.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), 8.0 degree Celsius temperature was recorded in Delhi s Palam at 5:30 am today, which is likely to fall by 0.8 degree Celsius during the next 24 hours.
