Amaszonas Uruguay Suspends Passenger Operations

MIAMI – Amaszonas Uruguay (UR), the flag carrier of the South American country, has suspended passenger operations. Confirming the suspension of passenger services, the carrier announced that it will begin “a process of approach and negotiation with different actors.” Amaszonas will have to deal with “the main suppliers, the reconfiguration and reduction of the workforce, optimization of the use and destination of the Embraer E190, and other strategic measures.” Potential Reinvention “Unfortunately, today the operation in Uruguay has become very complex and complicated,” said Sergio León, the general manager of UR before continuing “we will have to reinvent ourselves in other modes of transport and air work if these are possible.”

Venezuela s Laser Airlines Applies for US Flights

MIAMI – Venezuela-based Laser Airlines (QL) has applied for authority to begin US flights. Specifically, the airline plans to launch flights from Caracas (CCS), Valencia (VLN), and Maracaibo (MAR) in Venezuela to Miami, Florida (MIA). In October 2011, QL applied to the US Department of Transportation (DOT) in hopes of gaining permission to operate flights between Venezuela and the United States. The carrier originally applied to serve Fort Lauderdale (FLL) from Caracas with scheduled passenger flights. Additionally, QL applied to operate charter flights from Valencia (VLN) and Margarita Island (PMV) to FLL. However, the DOT never responded to QL’s initial application.

American Airlines Announces New Routes Including Miami-Tel Aviv

Air Serbia Increased Market Share at Belgrade Airport

According to the company, from just a 38.4% share in the market in January 2019, JU has, in just two years, increased its share by almost 15 percentage points in relation to the total number of passengers carried to/from BEG.
