WXYZ investigation honored with Regional Edward R. Murrow Award

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WXYZ) â The Radio Television Digital News Association today honored WXYZ-TVâs investigative reports on failures inside Michiganâs mental health system with a 2021 regional Edward R. Murrow Award.
The award honored a series of stories by investigative reporter Ross Jones, editor Randy Lundquist and photographers Ramon Rosario, Johnny Sartin and John Ciolino.
âThe regional RTDNA Edward R. Murrow Award recipients we announce today produced extraordinary journalism that brought clarity and context to 2020âs biggest news stories,â said RTDNA Chairwoman Andrea Stahlman. âThe winning work demonstrates dedication, determination and a commitment to the highest ethical standards enshrined in RTDNAâs Code of Ethics.â

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) has awarded WAFB with five prestigious Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, including in the category of Best Newscast.
The awards for RTDNA Region 9, comprised of television stations in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas, were announced Thursday morning.
The regional winners now go on to compete for the coveted National Edward R. Murrow awards. Last year, WAFB won a National Edward R. Murrow for Best Newscast.

ABC57 wins two Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards
The Radio Television Digital News Association announced the winners of the Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards on Thursday. ABC57 News received two awards.
ABC57 also won Overall Excellence.
