Police arrested a retired US Air Force officer and his companion for growing marijuana in their condominium in Taguig Wednesday afternoon.
Joint operatives from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), Taytay Municipal Police Station and Rizal Provincial Police Office supported by the Taguig City Police Station held a buy-bust operation at Royal Palm Residence Acacia Estates in Brgy. Ususan, Taguig.
The operation led to the seizure of P2.2 million worth of marijuana and kush. An informant told the police about the illegal cultivation of cannabis in the condominium, which was being used as a greenhouse for marijuana and kush.

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) on Tuesday, May 11, lauded the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) decision to have its members wear body cameras in the service of search and arrest warrants.
“The decision of the PNP leadership to use body cameras in serving search or arrest warrants is a step in the right direction and puts to good use the equipment already purchased,” IBP President Domingo Egon Q. Cayosa said in a statement.
Cayosa said the IBP expresses its hopes and trust “that the use of this technology will encourage, if not compel adherence to the rule of law” amidst complaints that policemen have been planting evidence and even engaged in extra-judicial killings in the service of warrants against activists and critics of the government.
Published May 11, 2021 6:46pm The Bureau of Customs-Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group arrested two claimants of three packages containing 9,243 ecstasy tablets worth over P15.7 million. In a statement on Tuesday, the BOC said the nabbed claimants were identified as Rowena Canapit and Michael de Guzman. The two presented an authorization letter from the consignee, a certain Glory Joy Buzeta, in claiming the packages in the Quezon City Postal Office. The BOC said the packages were shipped by a certain Agner Buzeta and Victor Martis from the Netherlands and were declared as handbags and shoes, baby clothes, and clothes.
