+ April 23, 2021 POLICE arrested on Thursday, April 22, 2021, a barangay kagawad and four other suspects in separate anti-drug operations in Eastern Visayas towns.
In Alangalang, Leyte, police identified the barangay kagawad as Mark Vergara, 32, who has been listed as a high-value individual of the town.
A poseur buyer was able to purchase from the suspect a sachet containing substance believed to be shabu, while confiscated from his possession and control were three small sachets believed to be containing shabu and buy-bust money.
The drug item was estimated at P2,500, police said.
In Tacloban City, elements of Police Station 2-Station Drug Enforcement Unit apprehended Jeffrey Delingon, 36.

April 19, 2021 AN ESTIMATED P1.7 million worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in joint drug bust operations of the Bacolod City Police Office Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-Western Visayas and Police Station 4 in Purok Bagong Silang, Baranga Estefania, Bacolod City Monday morning, April 19, 2021.
The operation also led to the arrest of Christine Vivero, 35, of said barangay, while her husband Edwin Vivero, 34, evaded arrest.
Police Lieutenant Ma. Liberty Indiape, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said Christine was arrested after she sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 1 a.m.
Her husband, Edwin, managed to escape after sensing that they were dealing with a policeman.
