The following information was provided Tuesday afternoon by local health departments and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

Four Northwestern Wisconsin residents died from complications related to COVID-19, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported Wednesday, Dec. 30.
Ashland and Rusk counties each reported the deaths of one resident, while Iron County reported two deaths. The people who died bring the total in each county to 16 in Ashland County, 17 in Iron County and 13 in Rusk County, respectively.
University Health Services to vaccinate Phase 1a eligible individuals against COVID-19
Update: On January 5, 2021, University Health Services began administering vaccines to individuals eligible under the Phase 1a criteria established according to state and federal guidance. These individuals have received emails from UHS with instructions for making an appointment and should continue to check for open times. UHS has been allocated vaccine from Moderna, one of two vaccines granted Emergency Use Authorization by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services has approved University Health Services to begin vaccinating eligible members of the campus community under the state’s COVID-19 vaccination program.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services launched a data tracker Tuesday to report the progress of the state’s efforts to immunize people against COVID-19 across the state.
The dashboard tracks how many vaccine doses have been allocated to Wisconsin by the federal government, how many have been shipped to the state by vaccine manufacturers and how many vaccines have been given.
The federal government has allocated 265,575 vaccines to Wisconsin and 156,875 vaccines have already been shipped. 47,157 vaccines have been administered, as of Dec. 29.
