SSM Health now vaccinating local public safety agencies

MADISON, Wis. –SSM Health is now vaccinating public safety officials across Wisconsin communities. The first group was vaccinated Monday.
Police and fire personnel are the only groups of front line essential workers approved by the Wisconsin Department of Health to receive vaccination in the Tier 1B group.
Dane County Sheriff Dave Mahoney was among those to receive a vaccine Monday.
“Working and maintaining the Dane County Jail, oftentimes we are seeing COVID present in some of our housing units and our Deputy Sheriffs, without regard are working day and night in those housing units. It’s important that they have the protection they need with this vaccine not only for themselves but for their families.”

GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) â Prevea Health and UW-Green Bay are teaming up to provide a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Kress Events Center.
âPart of our focus is not only to do this at scale, but living to the promises of our oath and doing it right,â said Prevea Health President and CEO, Dr. Ashok Rai.
âToday we are making a difference for Wisconsin and this area,â said UW System Interim President Tommy Thompson. âHopeful with the help of the state of Wisconsin Department of Health and Human Services, we can be their good partners in making sure that all vaccines sites can be set up on all of our campuses so we can serve the people of the state of Wisconsin faster and better.â
In addition to testing for COVID-19 at the Alliant Energy Center, Public Health Madison & Dane County is offering select groups protection from the virus.

Lawrence continues its academic year in Winter 2021 in the face of COVID-19. According to the Lawrence COVID-19 Dashboard, during the first week, 1,222 tests were administered, and 11 cases were positive (0.90% positivity rate). In addition, the Pandemic Planning Team implemented some changes to the COVID-19 protocols.
Following the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) guidelines, the Pandemic Planning Team has implemented some new changes to the quarantine procedure. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the DHS have provided guidance to lessen days in quarantine from 14 days to 10 days if no symptoms arise; both the CDC and DHS still recommend a full 14-day quarantine if possible.
