The House of Representatives has voted to strip Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of her committee assignments, following uproar over her past incendiary comments and apparent support of violence against Democrats. The vote was 230 to 199.
The vote comes a day after the House Rules Committee advanced a resolution, put forth by Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., to remove Greene from her assignments on the Budget panel and the Education and Labor Committee.
The House of Representatives voted to strip Greene of her committee assignments, a nearly party-line vote with 11 Republicans joining the Democratic caucus.

President Biden reiterated his commitment to go big with COVID-19 relief as the American Rescue Plan began moving through Congress along party lines.
“I know some in Congress think we’ve already done enough to deal with the crisis in the country,” Biden said during a White House address Friday to promote his $1.9 trillion COVID relief plan. “Others think that things are getting better and we can afford to sit back, either do little or do nothing at all. That’s not what I see. I see enormous pain in this country a lot of folks out of work, a lot of folks going hungry, staring at the ceiling tonight and wondering, ‘What am I going to do tomorrow?’

The House voted today to remove Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican from Georgia, from her committee posts.
Greene was removed by a vote of 230 to 199.
Eleven Republicans crossed party lines and voted to remove Greene from the committees.
