Ramping up production of oxygen generators: Beijing India on Sunday received assistance from Taiwan including oxygen concentrators and cylinders, with more batches of medical equipment set to follow from Taipei. A first batch, consisting of 50 oxygen concentrators and 500 oxygen cylinders, landed in New Delhi on Sunday on a Boeing 747 of China Airlines, the government-owned airline of Taiwan.

Jaishankar on four-day visit to London from May 3

The G7 members are Britain, the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will embark on a four-day visit to London beginning Monday primarily to participate in a meeting of foreign ministers of G7 countries. India has been invited to the meeting as a guest country. “The External Affairs Minister will be visiting London from May 3-6 to participate in the G7 foreign ministers’ meeting, at which India has been invited as a guest country. He will thereafter undertake a bilateral visit to the UK,” the Ministry of External Affairs said. The G7 members are Britain, the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan.

The Youth Congress said they supplied oxygen cylinders to the New Zealand and Philippines missions after they received requests from these embassies. The controversy erupted after Youth Congress volunteers supplied oxygen cylinders to the Philippines mission on Saturday night. Indian Youth Congress president B V Srinivas told The Indian Express that one of his volunteers – Manu Dixit - received a call from someone on behalf of the Philippines embassy for cylinders and they supplied it.
