Date Time Police lay charges over shooting of man at Turrella – Criminal Groups Squad Criminal Groups Squad detectives have charged a man over the shooting of another man in Sydney’s south last year. Just before 7am on Wednesday 26 August 2020, emergency services were called to Knoll Avenue, Turrella, following reports of shots fired. A 37-year-old man was found outside a home with several gunshot wounds. He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital in a serious condition and has since been released. Initial inquiries were conducted by St George Police Area Command, before detectives from the State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad took carriage of the investigation under Strike Force Whymoul.
