Updated: 3:17 PM EDT Jun 29, 2021 WXII12.com Web Staff One child is dead and two children are injured after two drive-by shootings in Statesville on Monday night.Statesville police first responded to a call of a 7-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl shot on the 1300 block on Wilson Lee Boulevard around 7 p.m. Both children were rushed to the hospital, where the 9-year-old girl died from her injuries.Her name was Ah myiahh Howell, according to Charlotte NBC affiliate WCNC, who spoke to her family. Family members told WCNC the 7-year-old boy is doing well after surgery.Witnesses told police a white possible Mercedes was driving down the street with a person shooting from inside the vehicle.While police were processing the scene on Wilson Lee Boulevard, they heard gunshots on the 300 block of New Bern Avenue around 8:35 p.m. When they arrived, they found a 10-year-old boy suffering a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
