Body found in Fishers retention pond Wednesday, police investigating

Police are investigating after a body was found floating in a retention pond in Fishers midday Wednesday.  Officers with the Fishers Police Department discovered the person after someone reported seeing a body floating in a retention pond in a residential neighborhood near Allisonville Road and Easy Street about 20 miles northeast of Indianapolis shortly after noon, Fishers Police Sgt. Tom Weger said.  A dive team recovered the body, Weger said, but were unable to determine if it was a man or a woman due to its condition. It was not immediately clear how long the body had been in the pond.
