Seeking $50,000 in damages, Pendleton filed her suit on April 30 in Harris County District Court.
According to her petition, on May 1, 2019, Pendleton ordered some smoked chicken from Pappas Bar-B-Q and took the food home to eat. While eating at home, Pendleton heard a crack in her mouth and immediately spit out what she was chewing.
Upon further review, Pendleton allegedly discovered a piece of metal, which she took back to the restaurant. A Pappas’ employee allegedly took possession of the item and sent it to corporate for testing.
Pendleton went to her dentist and learned that he tooth was broken and could not be repaired. The tooth needed to be pulled and Pendleton is now in need of a dental implant, according to the suit.
HOUSTON A Harris County man claims a Cadillac dealership accepted his downpayment for a custom vehicle and then sold the car to another customer.
Ali Mokaram filed a complaint April 28 in Harris County District Court against GPI TX-HGM Inc., doing business as Sterling McCall Cadillac, Group 1 Automotive, David Taylor Motors Inc., and Jessie Ledet alleging violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act and fraud.
According to his complaint, Mokaram made a down payment to the defendants for a custom Cadillac Escalade on July 13, 2020. He alleges that he was later notified by the defendants that the specific vehicle he ordered had been sold. Mokaram claims the current market value for the vehicle is in excess of its MSRP and that the defendants sold the vehicle for a greater value then what was offered to him.
HOUSTON A Harris County couple claim a contractor failed to abide by the project plans and drawings while building a pergola over their pool and created a defective structure.
Amir Hadzic and Kimberly Hadzic filed a complaint April 28 in Harris County District Court against Hugo Martinez, individually and doing business as Matatena Construction, Synergy Inspection Group LLC and Ellias Fernandez alleging violation of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, breach of contract and breach of warranty.
The Hadzics allege in their complaint that they entered into an agreement with Martinez in May of 2020, for the construction of a pergola over their pool at their property in The Woodlands. They claim the agreement included Martinez constructing the structure according to the authorized plans and specifications but that he failed to comply with the plans and drawings for the project.
