E town man charged in burglary

An Elizabethtown man was arrested early Monday morning after police say he broke into the residence of a woman. Gregory Johnson, 30, had an Emergency Protective Order against him to have no contact with the woman and to stay at least 500 feet away from her. According to an arrest citation, Elizabethtown police were called to a North Main Street residence regarding a domestic dispute. When police arrived, officers could hear “loud noises coming from the apartment,” the document said. Johnson was found in a bathroom upstairs. According to the woman, Johnson had forced his way into the apartment. He is charged with second-degree burglary — a Class C felony punishable by five to 10 years in prison, if convicted, and violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO.

Police: Woman charged with assault after pouring kerosene on someone

A Campbellsville woman was arrested in West Point after she reportedly poured kerosene from a pump onto a woman at a gas station. April Lynn Ponder, 42, is being held in lieu of a $10,000 cash bond in the Hardin County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear July 23 in Hardin District Court. According to an arrest citation, Ponder was seen and heard Wednesday night inside a gas station breaking items and swearing at people. When Kentucky State Police arrived, Ponder was found in a field near a Valero station and had a “very strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath,” according to the citation. She also had slurred speech, the document said.
