1.1. Presentation of Humanity and Inclusion HI is a non-governmental organization with more than thirty years of experience, joint winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, winner of the Nansen Refugee Award from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, as well as the Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize. Today the organization supports people with disabilities and vulnerable populations in around 60 countries. Mission and values Outraged by the injustice faced by people with disabilities and vulnerable populations, HI aspire to a world of solidarity and inclusion, enriched by differences, where everyone can live in dignity. Mode of intervention In crisis contexts as well as in a development perspective, HI places people with disabilities at the heart of its intervention strategy, taking great care to ensure that the populations it assists gradually become actors in their own development. To do this, whenever possible, the organization relies on existing networks in the countries (self-help or people with disability's associations, regional or governmental bodies) and provides them with structure and support to strengthen their intervention capacities.
