4.2 magnitude quake latest to shake Tahoe area; no damage reported

An earthquake with a 4.2 magnitude struck the Tahoe area Friday morning, the latest in a series of recent temblors for the area. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The quake struck about 5 miles (8 kilometers) southeast of Dollar Point at 8:25 a.m., the United States Geological Survey said. Its intensity was upgraded from a preliminary magnitude of 4.1.Sign up for our Newsletters
An aftershock with a preliminary 2.7 magnitude hit the same area at 8:46 a.m., USGS said. Another 3.1 magnitude quake followed at 9:04 a.m.
KCRA 3 viewers in the Tahoe area reported feeling the quake.
