View Comments Bryan Gulley and Reynaldo Rabagos are investing from their own pockets to bring an $11.4 million training complex for first responders to Corpus Christi. The business partners co-own Texas EMS Academy and TEMSA Emergency Services, which are in a suite on South Staples Street. "It's been three years (that) we've been working on this project," said Gulley, who is a commissioner for the Port of Corpus Christi Authority. "A while back, we completely outgrew our space and need to take it to the next level. "We have a waiting list of 600 or 700 students right now." Thursday, construction started on the National First Responder Training Complex on Saratoga Boulevard between The Cattery Cat Shelter and County Road 35. It will be the new home of Texas EMS Academy and TEMSA Emergency Services.
