A.M. Roundup: Whistleblower says plastics company fired him to keep water pollution quiet

A former in-house attorney for Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, which owns a manufacturing plant in Hoosick Falls that contaminated the village’s water supplies with a toxic chemical, alleges he was fired last year after he pushed leaders of the corporation to fully investigate whether their other U.S. plants may have polluted public water supplies with a manmade polymer.  (TU)
Under new legislation introduced in the state Senate, police officers from other states who resigned or were fired due to misconduct allegations would be barred from working in law enforcement in New York — an expansion of the existing law which bans New York police officers from taking other jobs in the state if fired for misconduct.  (TU)
