JONESVILLE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS Hillsdale Daily News A running program at Jonesville Community Schools has been challenging young students to train for a 5K on Friday. The Comet Cruisers couch to 5K running program for grades 3-5 is coordinated by third-grade teacher Rachel Mandrelle and will culminate Friday for an end-of-the-season run. "We had to make a lot of special adaptations to make the program work this year when we couldn't train together in person," Mandrelle said. "We set up weekly challenges for which the kids earned postcards from Michigan cities. We called it our 'Run Through Michigan.'" Mandrelle also worked to get a grant through the Hillsdale County Community Foundation YOUTH to help purchase an online subscription to a cross training program.
