But this year, with remote learning a staple because of the coronavirus, some schools decided to take advantage of the technology. Some school districts, like the Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union and the Hoosick Falls Central School district, pivoted to remote learning. Others, including Arlington, Cambridge, Burr and Burton Academy and Sacred Heart, gave students and staff the traditional snow day. In a post on the schoolâs Facebook page, Hoosick Falls superintendent Patrick Dailey said that the decision to switch to remote learning was not made lightly.
