Despite the hysterical hypotheses of local media in the hours that followed, it became apparent that Denver was far and away the odds-on favorite to land Rodgers. It was only after Denver selected Patrick Surtain II that it set in that such a trade wasn’t going to happen until after June 2nd; the day such a trade wouldn’t have such a devastating impact on the Packers’ salary cap situation.
