American Grace Stark clocked the world mark on February 29, 2020, at the SEC Championships at the College Station in the United States. She also produced a 7.93 clocking earlier on that day. However, her times are pending ratification by World Athletics, which has Klaudia Siciarz of Poland as the official record holder with 8.00 seconds. Siciarz achieved the mark at the Polish Indoor Championships on February 18, 2017, when improving on American Dior Hall’s mark by 0.01.
