Ahlin: Mother's Day, Version 2021 Everybody talks about children as “hope for the future.” We’re giddy over expectant parents and besotted with our grandchildren. (Yes, mine are amazing…OK, OK, yours are, too.) When it comes to policy decisions, however, we act as if the next generation isn’t everybody’s concern, that policies supporting parents are outlandish extravagances.
