Airport Corner # 10: The tail tells the tale
By: Carl La Rue, local pilot & businessman. News, facts and personal opinion, speaking for himself and not as a representative of the airport or this website.
Tail of a late-model Citation Latitude business jet owned by Travel Resorts of America.
The pictured airplane (tail) happened to be parked at the airport on April 15 when I showed up for the monthly trustees meeting. The two pilots were relaxing in the pilot’s lounge (built for that purpose) and I couldn’t resist chatting them up about the plane. Goodbye relaxing!
The late model business jet comes off the production line at 17.5 million dollars, carrying two pilots and four passengers—obviously in comfort. What intrigued me was the neat uniforms the pilots were wearing with their company logo prominently and tastefully displayed across their chests.
