Well there is a theme of impatience in anger because it keeps happening it happened to Michael Brown in ferguson missouri it happened to Trayvon Martin in florida it happens in city after city i cant tell you how many of these events i have covered where police have killed an unarmed black man and once again here in this case there is some satisfaction that one officer has been charged but they want all 4 officers to be charged and more is more than that aaron but they really want is for these incidents to stop and thats why the group black white lives matter formed and thats why were still are seeing these kinds of protests all across the country today theres just a sense that people are fed up. And you are talking about the governor calling for the National Guard to be mobilized fully for the 1st time in the States History so what sort of Police Presence and Security Force presence are you seeing on the streets and is that likely to make the situation even worse. I dont know if you can see them because weve weve had obviously had to go away theyve been firing at us but. There are hundreds of police that presence is very strong they came in in force they blew smoke they headed there their entry and then they began firing tear gas and these rubber pellets. Theres just the police are moving around to where ever they need to be or to where ever an incident is happening at that very moment in brooklyn weve heard of some clashes with police and some protesters weve also heard some other clashes in other parts of the city but right now the bottom line is new york city is really a city in the middle of fog right now because its really hard to make out exactly whats happening except exit where youre standing at that very moment quite frankly. We know that new york city is one of the coronavirus. So what sort of official reaction have we seen from the governor from the men whove been by public during the pandemic. The mayor and the governor of new york and now we are yeah we are thank you. The mayor and the governor of new york are saying that they support the protesters they support the protest movement that they want justice as well but the bottom line is these are angry streets right now. Theres appear to be some crashes just down the street were hearing some flash bangs this is. Going to after 10 pm here in new york it appears it appears that we have quite a long night ahead of us here i dont mind as most of the people that i speak to out on the streets young people and they say quite frankly they dont want to hear from politicians right now they want to get their anger out yet again just a final point on the new yorkers of course remember the case of donna back in 2014 a black man unarmed black man also killed by a white man. Yeah thats right 2014 eric gardner unarmed black man who was it was tackled by some police he was taken to the ground and he was he was saying i cant brief and theres cell phone video of that that led to the black lives Matter Movement that was started right here in new york so a lot of people here a lot of people here. Know that they remember that and Police Violence quite frankly is very raw here in new york city you can hear bangs behind me i dont quite know what that is. And him dying as a result of that but in any event there were reports earlier this afternoon of Water Bottles and firecrackers being thrown at Police Officers of spray painted profanity laced spray painted created comments on Police Vehicles. People rocking Police Vehicles and at that time there were reports that were 3 officers were injured so dear and we had spoken spoken earlier and i had told you that i thought once the sun set that it was very likely that things would ratchet up again and people would protest this moment is eerily reminiscent of other moment that the city of chicago had and it wont fade from its memory soon that was in 2014 when the police shot and killed a 17 year old look kwan make donald at the time nischelle a the police had said that he was carrying a gun and he lunged at the police 13 months later dash cam on a Police Squad Car revealed that police a Police Officer shot him multiple times as he was walking away from the police there were massive protests the Illinois State attorney general and the department of civil rights initiated.
