So were getting ever closer to that deadline and the message is still being drowned out by both campaigns. Ads in key markets like or heigho like pennsylvania like North Carolina texas georgia as well 2 florida of course and we have joe biden whos doing a lot in pennsylvania this state where he was born hes hoping that he can turn from a republican state and to a democratic one and give him an easier path to the white house donald trump what hes decided to spend the day talking to talk show hosts across america started the day speaking to his favorite t. V. Channel his favorite t. V. Show seeing that he would only did clear a victory if there was a victory he said there was no time for nonsense which is a change in the position hes held over the last few weeks hes going to go and speak to some of the workers for the Republican Party over to arlington in virginia before heading back to the white house interestingly enough we were told that the b. Nor events at the trump hotel just a short distance away from the white house instead because of corporate restrictions he was going for a big gathering at the east room of the white house with no being told so that gathering is being scaled down from 402250 how do you read that is that the possibility that the Trump Campaign things that there is not good news coming rather than holding what many have described as another super spreader event i guess thats one way to think about it donald trump himself has been campaigning vigorously 17 events in the last 3 days gotta give him credit remember its not that long ago he was in the hospital with corbett decided to come back and hit the campaign trail and hes been. Hammering his message that hes good for the United States hes built up a great economy that was interrupted by corporate and he deserves another 4 years to show exactly what he can do saying that joe Biden Incoming the hottest put all that at risk hes also very comfortable but with the years in the polls most of the polls showing that hes behind joe biden particularly in those key states that we were talking about but he will point to the fact 4 years ago at this time he was behind in all those states then and he feels comfortable with that because we know that the polls got it wrong in 2016 and they think he thinks they might have got it wrong again which would mean of course 4 more years of donald trump in the white house and we cant forget of course that this isnt just a race for the presidency this is a race also possibly for control of the senate as well. Exactly right and people tend to forget that it gets subsumed by the all encompassing battle for the white house joe biden has gone out on the stump and many of his surrogates have as well to talk up their potential candidates for the Senate Donald Trump has done a better of that but not quite as much and the senate really is in the balance because the democrats need to flip just 3 states and they would take control of the senate remember at the moment 100 people in the senate the republicans have a 5347 majority so if they flip 3 states they become the majority and they think that they can do that in fact if you look at the polls it would suggest that there are 5 seats that they could potentially went which would be a big victory if joe biden won the white house as well to have the white house the senate and the house all pointing in the same direction all democrats who let me just interrupt you there and i apologize for doing that here we are seeing live pictures of donald trump in virginia lets just quickly listen in to what hes saying i know youll be here all night and i think youre going to see some tremendous results and you know we had rallies there was love at those rallies and theres never been rallies like this has never been and i say it in front of the media and they can check it they can fact check it if they want but theres never been anything like we just had and i think a combination of the debate maybe the debates but the debate certainly the 2nd debate and the rallies were it was a good combination and we really i think we took off so its been really good i want to just thank everybody in the room you see these people we travel with these people are extremely nice and they respect very much what weve done and actually i think they do if you want to as i think they do you have a place. I feel very good after doing that many. Rallys the voice gets a little bit choppy i think. Were producing for other countries but its been its been an incredible period of time and i think that. If you look at britain and i say they say proudly we are rounding the corner but the vaccines are coming out very soon theyre having tremendous success johnson and johnson moderna pfizer and. Were going to have something were going have a very special year next year i think is going to be more successful than it was last year we had the best year weve ever had last year and i think were going to be right in that category for next year so thats very succinct very you. Theres a tremendous love going on in this country and theres really a tremendous unity theres a tremendous unity nobodys ever seen that where you take an airport and the airports not big enough to hold the crowds nobodys ever seen a thing like that and our opposition as you know would have a few people sitting in circles and thats ok thats not abnormal thats not abnormal actually i miss the way it is but we would get crowds of 50000 people 45000 people more nobodys ever seen anything like that sort of it was an otter theyre great people these are people that. Well i think you know possibly tonight depending on the extent of a victory i think you could go tonight i think the ruling on pennsylvania was an unfortunate one by the Supreme Court because i think we should know what happens on the night when people put their ballots in earlier. But you have to have you have to have numbers you cant have these things to lay for many days and maybe weeks you cant do that the whole world is where d this country is waiting but the whole world is waiting and a lot of shenanigans a lot of bad things happen with ballots when you say oh lets devote days and days and all of a sudden the ballot count changes and you take a look at philadelphia the history of philadelphia politics no i dont put people on their honor code i dont think its right and i think its a very dangerous thing that theyve done with that decision and maybe their wisdom will change at decision or maybe well go back and give them a right to change it but thats a terrible its a very dangerous decision for this country but they did with pennsylvania and some others also you have to have a date and the date happens to be november 3rd and we should be entitled to know who won on november 3rd and if somebody comes along and puts a ballot in way late they shouldnt be they should put the ballot in early theres no reason why they cant put the ballot in 2 weeks earlier or one week earlier i think its a very dangerous decision for a country in many ways dangerous in many ways. Here. On our primary i mean were going to have to see we have a big night play and were going to have a very big night i just think were going to have a tremendous. I think were going to have a look im looking at right now im looking at different locations and were seeing lines of people. And theyre wearing a lot of red material on their hats but now i was saying in certain areas that would be trump areas were seeing lines of people that are extended for miles is saying it to i mean you dont have to say it but youre seeing it to so i think were going to have a great night but its politics and its elections and you never know i can say that. Texas arizona a few of them are looking really very very strong florida looking very very strong they spent hundreds of millions of dollars in florida but the people of florida they know i love them and they love me you know we just have a automatic up list. People that are averaging about 20 years old but but i dont think were going to have anything i think of anything were going to do very well and i have seen and we have seen africanamericans way up and hispanic americans way off and people have seen that and. You know ive said with regard to africanamerican the black community ive done more than any other president with the exception of Abraham Lincoln. And sometimes i say with the possible exception of Abraham Lincoln but lets give him a lot of credit right but ive done more than any other president in the history of this country for africanamericans the black community and they understand a criminal Justice ReformPrison Reform is sturrock lee black colleges and universities you look at what weve done opportunity zones with tim scott of South Carolina whos great. Nobody has done what ive done in terms of the Africanamerican Community so and they see it and theyre tired of being used by the democrats for 100 years i mean its like been 100 years. Alan interesting one of the things that he was talking about was his criticism of the Supreme Courts ruling with regard to mail in ballots in pennsylvania because the Supreme Court has allowed the states to count mail in ballots up to 3 days after the election and that is going to be a key issue in this election isnt it. Well of course the Supreme Court took the view that if people cast their vote and the rules are set then you cant really change the rules in the middle of the game particularly if theres nothing in there they goes against the constitution so many people would see that the Supreme Court reached the right decision and that of course donald trump had talked about getting a Supreme Court that would help him when the election he actually said that sort of thing. Very directly when he was pushing the nomination. Who was later confirmed to be the next justice of the u. S. Supreme court its interesting he continues to hammer away this idea that he has done more for the Africanamerican Community than any other president since lincoln certainly the polls that were seeing suggest that the number of africanamericans who are voting for donald trump is up its up slightly but of course if you go back to the 1960 s. And president johnson and he passed the equal rights i think many people in the Africanamerican Community would suggest that that was a much more significant than anything that donald trump has done and perhaps shows that hes not entirely gauged with that community in the way the thing see is what was also interesting is he was asked have you prepared to the acceptance or. One where you accept defeat and he said that he hadnt thought of either of those at the moment i bet your script writers have theyll be working on. And something that though it suggests that the Trump Campaign still thinks that this could take a little while to be sorted possibly 2 or 3 days. Particularly of pennsylvania is as tight as the reports that were getting at the other thing is that it suggests that donald trump still thinks hes going to win he still thinks the echoes of 2016 of their behind in the polls didnt spend as much money what im being told is that texas for joe biden has probably gone 2 or 3 points behind and they dont think theyre going to make that up but georgia is still very much in play as far as theyre concerned and of joe biden wins that it makes things a lot tougher for donald trump hes got to then defend essentially every single state he won in 2016 and if you look at the likes of michigan where he had his final Campaign Rally that becomes difficult because hes 67 points behind joe biden in the last polls there so a brave face from donald trump but weve been watching him for more than 4 years would you expect him to be any other way than he was the perhaps a bit low key but lacking in energy but give him credit hes a man in the seventys in these managed 17 events in the last 3 days so he probably is feeling a little bit jet like that but exhausted by all allan thanks a lot thats alan fischer in washington d.
