Genesee River communities move forward on Local Waterfront Revitalization Program The Wellsville Daily Reporter WELLSVILLE — Allegany County communities along the Genesee River are banding together in a shared vision for future development. The Village of Wellsville last week formally authorized an agreement with Ingalls Planning and Design of Fairport to move forward with the Genesee River Local Waterfront Revitalization Program. Each municipality in Allegany County that touches the Genesee River signed off on joining the effort — the village and town of Wellsville, along with Angelica, Amity, Belmont, Belfast, Caneadea, Hume, Scio and Willing. The Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) puts together plans to guide development decisions. The LWRPs for each community will address public access, recreational opportunities, tourism and economic development, and identify ways to sustainably capitalize on the region’s natural and cultural assets.
