One of the most powerful writers of our times, Amitav Ghosh, returns to one of his favourite themes of the mangroves of Sundarbans with his new book ‘Jungle Nama’, after having penned ‘The Hungry Tide’ and ‘Gun Island’. Retelling a popular Bengali lore in beautiful verse, Ghosh puts the lens firmly on the perils of human immoderation when dealing with the ecology and planet earth. Illustrations of the book are done by Salman Toor.
