Amotekun The Oyo State Security Network Agency, Operation Amotekun, yesterday, denied that its operatives killed any student of the University of Ibadan, contrary to the scenario painted by some students. It would be recalled that some youths and students in Oyo State on Thursday stormed Oyo State Government Secretariat, protesting the alleged killing of Akolade Gbadebo, a student of the Federal College of Education Special (SPED), Oyo town, affiliated to the University of Ibadan, by an officer of the Oyo State Amotekun Corps. They accused Amotekun Corps operatives of involvement in circumstances that led to Gbadebo’s death. But a statement by its Commandant, Col. Olayinka Olayanju (rtd), said Amotekun corps operatives only had an encounter with a three-man robbery gang, neutralised its leader and handed the two surviving members to the Atiba Police Station in Oyo town.
