Davis devoted her life to the cause of equal justice, opportunity and political representation. Solemn funeral services for Anita Davis were held on Monday, Jan. 25 at Tallahassee's Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor R.B. Holmes greeted the congregants, with words of gratitude: "To literally thank God for the life, love, leadership and legacy of the honorable sister, Anita L. Davis." Local, State and Federal government resolutions praising her life and legacy poured in after her death. Davis's long-time friend Delaitre Hollinger shared the long list during the service: "A tribute from the Florida House of Representatives, Allison Tant, State Representative District Nine, a tribute from the Florida House of Representatives, Ramon Alexander, state representative District Eight, a resolution from the Leon County School District, Rocky Hanna, superintendent," enumerating just a few of the many remembrances.
