The Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA) has revealed it is working with members to address concerns over challenging packaging requirements on Hainan Island. Responding to a question during the recent Duty Free World Council 2021 â The Year of the Recovery webinar, Christina Oliver, Executive Director, APTRA, said she understood brands had to follow local regulations on the island from a domestic standpoint and that duty free standard labelling was not permitted. Oliver commented: âWe have pulled an Asia Pacific alcohol working group together to have a look at this. It is one of their concerns. In addition, we have reached out to our colleagues on confectionery because this is usually a tough labelling situation.â
