EL DORADO, Ark. – David Clay Fowlkes, acting United States attorney for the Western District of Arkansas, announced Tuesday that Patrick Wayne Watson, 24, of Conway, and Kennan Dane O’Bier, 24, of Nash, Texas, were sentenced in federal court for their roles in a mail fraud and identity theft scheme in Magnolia. O’Bier was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release, and Watson was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release, both on one count of mail fraud and aggravated identity theft. They were each ordered to pay $200 in special assessments and to pay restitution in the amount of $42,113.12. The Honorable Susan O. Hickey, chief United States district judge, presided over the sentencing hearing in the United States District Court in El Dorado.
