Wednesday Shortly after 7 p.m., agents of the Halifax County Sheriffâs Office were in the area of Wendover Lane in Roanoke Rapids following up on drug complaints. Agents had received complaints of possible drug activity, several cars going to a residence staying a short time then leaving throughout the night. Agent B.J. Murphy stopped a vehicle leaving the Wendover Lane residence on West Tenth Street near Colonial Drive for a motor vehicle violation. During the search, smoking pipes and cocaine were seized. Murphy cited the driver, Wendy Wells, 54, of Roanoke Rapids, with a North Carolina Uniform Citation for possession of drug paraphernalia. Murphy arrested and charged Melissa Christine Trezza, 37, for felony possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
